To The Women Who Helped Mold Me

To the women who made me who I am today- Thank You.

There are so many things to be thankful for, especially around this time of the year. The last few months have made me count my blessings twice and hold on to them close because they can be taken away at any given moment. God has a plan for everyone, whether it is in our plan here on earth or not. One of the most important things to me are the strong women I have in my life. Even some of the women who are no longer on this earth still continue to mold me into who I am. This is to you.

Nanna- Although you're no longer with us, not a day goes by where I don't feel your presence. You taught me how important it is to have God in your life and showed me a true example of what a Christian should be. Up until the day before you left us, all you wanted to do is be able to go to church. You also helped introduce me to my love for politics. It was an honor to care for you until the day you left and be able to be next to you as you took your last breath. For that, I am forever thankful.

Grandma- I think you're more like me than you are yourself sometimes. You're my best friend and I don't know what I would do without you. You give me the strength to keep pushing even when I feel like I no longer can. You're my rock.

Mom- You are my strength and shield. You've given me so many opportunities over the years and I could never thank you enough. It's true when they say you call your mom and tell her every move you make while in college. I don't know how many times a day I call you to tell you I'm bored. I don't know what I would do without you.

Laura- You have treated me like one of your own since day one. You have been such a strong role model to me. I couldn't ask for a better Christian influence in my life. You are strong and your strength inspires me. You have helped me when I have been at my lowest and offer to pray with me, whether its 4pm or 4am. I am so thankful for all you have done for me and continue to do and am glad that I will always have you in my life. Lastly, thank you for giving me your son. You raised a great one and I could't ask for a better one to love and watch over me for the rest of my life until I am able to be with him again, whenever that time may be.

I would not be who I am today without any of you and I cannot even begin to express how thankful I am for you. I love you all more than you will ever know.

Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. 1 John 3:18

  1. Girl, you keep me smiling every day. Your free spirit makes me happy and I can't imagine my life without you in it. You scare me to death and keep me on the edge of my seat always. There is nothing you could do that would stop the love I feel for you. I would give up anything I have including my life to save yours. You are stuck with me for as long as I live! Love you more than you can even imagine.
